With all the hype of MR videos right now, I decided to go and listen to a few myself. I was pleasantly surprised by a few of the performances too. It’s not that I expected horrible singing or anything, since well…these people kind of make a living out of singing, but with some people critisising and saying how certain idol groups have pretty shaky vocals, I have to say that I didn’t hear any of that. Maybe it’s just that the live performances I listened to weren’t as bad. I guess we also have to keep in mind that not all live performances are smooth sailing for the singers. With that said, here’s a few performances I watched.
Super Junior:
Marry U – This is one of my favourite songs by them :D. There were a few shaky moments, but overall, I think the boys did relatively well. To me, Yesung’s voice really stood out; maybe it’s because he sounds exactly the same when singing live and when recorded. Ahh, if only the screaming was cut out or had its volume lowered =/.
Rokkugo – They don’t really sing in this song, do they? But the rare times they did, they provided a nice performance. I’m not sure about this, but it seems Kangin wasn’t there..? I didn’t hear his voice or see him at all.
SS501:
Deja Vu – A lovely live performance! YongSaeng especially *__*.
UR Man – They seemed to have really improved since their Deja Vu days, which wasn’t that long ago mind you. And I guess I’m a bit biased, since I love this song so much ^^;;.
Snow Prince – I initially loaded this video to hear the difference between the earlier days and see how much they’ve grown throughout the years, and I’m absolutely speechless. They sounded so good in this one too!
Big Bang:
Haru Haru – This is one of the few songs I like by Big Bang and I enjoyed every minute of it. Well, almost. I just have this tiny issue with TOP’s voice and the way he raps. Besides that though, nice performance! And now I really understand why Daesung is thought to be the one with the best vocals in the group. Such a lovely voice!
SNSD:
Gee -To be honest, I wasn’t expecting a brilliant performance since there’s been some controversies over the girls’ ability to sing, but I actually quite liked it. I don’t think any of them have fabulous vocals, but they’re actually not bad.
Wonder Girls:
So Hot – They sound…alright. Not horrible, but not exactly terribly great or anything. I think they’re just average.
DBSK:
Love in the Ice – There is absolutely no doubt that these boys are awesome at singing! :)

So who do you think was the best out of the lot? Try not to be biased in your vote ^^.
Now, if you were to rank the above artistes, what order would they be in?
Love these MR videos. Yet I’m really begining to doubt the wonder girls’ vocal abilities. Especially Sohee
You just noticed?
